Andrey Kolokolov


Andrey Kolokolov was born in 1971, in Moscow. He entered the Ippolitov-Ivanov Musical High School in 1986, studying the trumpet, and finished his studies there in 1990. That same year, he entered the Moscow Conservatory, studying under the legendary trumpeter L.V. Volodin, graduating in 1996.

While still a student at the Conservatory, Andrey performed as a soloist in the Moscow Symphony Orchestra led by V. Dudarova. From 1992-1993, he worked in France and in 1993 was invited to join the "Young Russia" State Symphonic Orchestra (led by M. Gorenshteyn) as a soloist.

From 1997-2002, Andrey worked in Turkey, performing as principal trumpet in the Bilkent Academic Symphony Orchestra, while also teaching trumpet at Bilkent University.

In 2002, Andrey was invited to join the RNO. He is a member of the RNO's Brass Quintet and Master Brass Ensemble.
