RNO Performs at InClassica 2021

In August and September the Russian National Orchestra performed at the international classical music festival InClassica.

InClassica was held from August 28 to September 26 in Dubai, and was reportedly the largest music festival ever to take place in the Middle East, with 37 soloists, 7 orchestras, and 11 conductors participating.

The RNO performed four concerts at the festival's beginning (Sept 1-4) and four at its end (Sept 23-26), including the closing concert. The audience had attendees from more than two hundred nationalities from around the world. The RNO's repertoire included works by Tchaikovsky, Ravel, and the festival's resident composer, Alexei Shor.

RNO Founder and Artistic Director Mikhail Pletnev said the orchestra's performances were very well received: "The audience demanded more and more; obviously they liked everything. We'll play more next time." In one instance, the orchestra gave three encores at a single concert.

What They’re Saying

"I saw the greatest orchestra in the world play Friday night. If you think that's hyperbole, ask anyone who was in Yardley Hall that night. The Russian National Orchestra is the Rolls-Royce of orchestras, no ordinary ensemble."
